Behavioral Health Technician - Psychiatric Nursing Unit - Part Time 24 hrs./week - Day Shift

Eligible for Part-Time Benefits

Shift: Nights 7:00 am to 7:30 pm. Rotating Weekends.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provides direct behavioral health patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Assists patients with performing activities of daily living.
• Provides or assists with providing direct patient care, diagnostic procedures and therapeutic interventions.
• Observes and records patient behavior and activities. Reports any changes in condition and suggests modifications to the treatment plan.
• Establishes a therapeutic relationship with assigned patients. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES REQUIRED:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. 

CERTIFICATION/LICENCES PREFERRED:

• Certification specializing in Crisis Prevention preferred. 
• Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry preferred.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree OR 4 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

• Minimum 1 year of Behavioral Health preferred
• Minimum Associate's degree preferred
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork mindset, fast-paced environment
